Basic Skin Care Routine Products

Basic Skin Care Routine Products – It’s been a minute since I’ve shared my skincare products and daily routine, so I thought it was time for an update. Honestly, my business consists of beauty and skin care products…like the boxes that come to my house everyday. This is definitely a bonus, but it can also be a little intimidating at times, especially for someone with acne-prone skin who is nervous about using something new on their face! I feel very strongly about testing something for 2+ weeks before deciding whether I like it or not, so a) I’ve turned down sponsored beauty programs in the past if they required some silly short spins (hello, can I try first?) b) IG with you on my blog and my I am really interested in blog posting as well.

These are products that I have been reviewing for months or years. Some are drugstore brands and some are more expensive; Let me remind you that I’m not discriminating, I’m not an esthetician or a doctor – ha – I just wanted to share what worked for me in case it helped! I’m also a firm believer in monthly facials to really cleanse your skin (see more about that in this post). Keep scrolling for my AM and PM routines. I’ve also created some simple charts that you can save and refer to.

Basic Skin Care Routine Products

My Skin Type/Concerns: Oily and acne prone. Except sometimes during the winter months, I rarely feel dry after spending a lot of time outside/on a plane. My two biggest concerns: preventing acne and preventing all the wonderful things that come with aging skin.

Anti Aging Products Our Editors Can’t Live Without

My skincare routine is pretty much the same every night except for Step 3, which alternates between retinol and an exfoliation treatment. I try really hard to listen to my skin, and some nights I skip step 3 entirely if it feels dry or needs a break.

4. For eyes, I use La Mer Eye Concentrate. It is a gift, a very generous gift. I think I will continue to use the Kiehl’s Avocado Cream once it runs out.

There are many misconceptions about retinol, so if you’re confused about when and how to use it, I recommend using this post as a guide. It really helped me!

6. Tatcha Moisturizing Firming Eye Serum: I start using this over my Kiehls line Minimizing Eye Brightening Concentrate. I forgot how much I loved the Kiehls product a few years ago and bought it again recently, but unfortunately they changed the formula. After reading so many reviews, I don’t know what’s going on, but it sure isn’t what it used to be. (from what I’ve read) still seems to have the same powerful ingredients, they changed the setting. I really didn’t want to waste it, so I chatted with a few people at Sephora and they said I could layer this over Tatsa first to get the hydration I was missing!

A Beginner’s Guide To Skincare: The Four Basic Steps To Good Skin — Project Vanity

My #1 favorite mask is Dr. G Aqua Collagen Mask. I use it for any special event (just before makeup) including my wedding! It’s really plump and hydrating. The skin is beautiful and makes a great base for makeup application!

Paula’s Choice Hyaluronic Acid Booster is my go-to before any flight. I mix it with Mara Universal Face Oil and I’m like a glowing goddess – ha! I add it to my Skinceutials C E Ferulic when I feel like I need a little something (usually when I don’t have time to cover it up).

Tea Tree Oil – Great for cystic acne. Dip an ear tip and apply to your skin (make sure it’s not broken skin). The smell is harsh, but it works. Sometimes I do it 3 times a day and the stubborn subcutaneous acne gradually disappears. If you really can’t get enough of the scent, Sunday Riley UFO is a less scented but more expensive option. The Sunday Relay has other benefits as well. I used an example recently and found it absolutely effective!

If I use moisturizer, Clinique Moisture Surge or moisturizing gel: it’s really only in winter and every few days. 99% of the time I don’t use moisturizer because my skin is so moist in the morning after my night oil. My skin is naturally oily and I find that most moisturizers make the oiliness 10 times worse. These are two of my favorite products because they are gels, not lotions/creams.

Skincare Routine And Products For Very Dry Skin

Lips: My two essentials are Clarin Hydra Essential Lip Balm and Torpin Petal Infusion Lip Oil. Both are super hydrating and especially great for travel and the winter elements. The tarp looks shiny when rubbed against the slightly subtle clarines. If I had to pick one, I’d say Claire’s is the perfect way to go!

Two night serums I’ve used a ton in the past and absolutely love are KORRES Black Pine Sculpting Oil and Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate.

KORRES Black Pine Styling Oil is a clean product and is under $70, which is great! I saw bottles of this stuff in 2017 and early 2018 (I wore it for my wedding prep and the week before my wedding).

How long before you notice results from Dennis Gross Peel and Skinceuticals C E Ferulic? I would say roughly a month to a month and a half. You should be careful in using it. For dark spots and acne scars, it definitely takes some time to see these disappear, but it works. A bottle of Skincuticles lasts about 3 months, so once you’ve finished a bottle you’ll have to figure out if it’s worth it (and it is!)! I know a lot of people who use Denise Wet Wipes daily (and use them daily as directed), but this is more for me; I see a difference when I only use it twice a week.

Mommy And Me Skincare: What Skincare Products I Use On My Daughter

Are the expensive skin care products sold by estheticians worth it? My esthetician referred me to Skinceuticals. From what I’ve read and been told, you want the best pharmaceutical grade products, but this often comes at a cost. I can’t vouch for all estheticians and what they sell, so I suggest you do your research. My daughter Molly works with a medical practitioner, so I feel comfortable knowing that the products they prescribe/stock in their office are high quality and affordable.

Do you have any product recommendations? This is something I haven’t researched much (and should probably start doing) but the Mara, Tatsa and KORRES beauty products I use are all clean.

Do you recommend a good toner? I’m not really a toner person but I’ve heard great things about the SK II.

I also have a lot of questions about travel skin care. What’s in my travel makeup bag; Like most of the ones I used before flying!

Hope this helps – I tried to do my best! Be sure to DM me or comment below with additional questions. xo – gray
